Booking at mountain lodgings are on the rise
KUSA – Mountain lodging areas are seeing a steady increase in the 2013 season.
A Denver-based research company, DestiMetrics, collected data from a variety of lodging resorts in California, Utah and Colorado.
The company’s research found on-the-books occupancy for October is up 7.4 percent compared to last Oct. and revenues are up 13.9 percent.
There is also an increase in reservations. The number of reservations taken in September for arrivals in September through February is up 9.7 percent from this time last year. Also, as of Sept. 30 on-the-books occupancy for October 2013 through March 2014 is up 11.3 percent.
These positive results are a continuation from summer results. September is finishing up 3.4 percent higher than last September for occupancy.
According to the press release, DestiMetric focused on the generally positive numbers, but was concerned with the budget and debt ceiling resolution in Washington.
